Summary
This is a software upgrade proposal for Pigeon. We request that the network upgrade the minimum Pigeon version of the tumbler
network to Pigeon v2.3.4
to update GETH which fixes issues related to BNB hard fork
Abstract
This is a software upgrade proposal for Pigeon. We request that the network upgrade the protocol of the tumbler
network to Pigeon v2.3.4
to upgrade go-ethereum (GETH).
Motivation
After the hard fork of BNB on 03/20/25, the getBlockbyHash function no longer returned the correct information, blocking relays on all chains. Upgrading GETH solves this issue. This pigeon release also contains some other minor fixes.
The motivations for this Paloma upgrade include the following:
- Upgrade go-ethereum version
- Upgrades and fixes to allow Pigeons to better handle gas and transaction errors. See the Paloma and Pigeon release notes for more:
Prior to upgrade
- An upgrade proposal that must be submitted by anyone running a node on the network. This proposal should have the correct block height.
- Please use the following tool to calculate the approximate Block Height: Huginn - PalomaChain Release Window Planner
- This upgrade proposal requires 10 GRAIN or 10000000ugrain for deposit for voting.
- IMPORTANT: The
upgrade height
is the block height where the chain requires the new pigeon version to be used. - The Target block height for chain halt for this proposal is tentative ****
